Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions? We’ve got answers to help you navigate StickyNote Calendar.
What is StickyNote Calendar?
StickyNote Calendar is a free, web-based tool designed for GCSE and A-Level students to plan their studies. It combines pre-loaded exam schedules with customizable sticky notes to keep your revision on track.
How do I create a new calendar?
From the homepage, click "Create New Calendar." Enter a name, set your start and end dates, choose subjects or exams, and specify sections per day. Then click "Save and Generate" to see your calendar.
Can I edit or delete a calendar?
Yes! On the homepage, your calendars are listed under "Your Calendars." Click "Edit" to modify details or "Delete" to remove it entirely. Note: deleting removes all associated notes too.
How do sticky notes work?
Click any day section to add a note. Pick a subject, write your task, and it sticks there! Drag notes to move them, double-click to mark them done, or right-click for repeat options (daily, weekly, monthly).
What’s the difference between GCSE, A-Level, and Bespoke tabs?
"GCSE" and "A-Level" offer pre-loaded exam schedules for 2025. "Subjects" lists general subjects without dates. "Bespoke" lets you create custom entries with your own dates and colors.
How does progress tracking work?
The left panel shows a pie chart of your active notes by subject and a count of tasks per subject. Days until exams are also displayed next to each subject with scheduled exams.
Can I use this on my phone?
Absolutely! The app is responsive—on mobile, the layout stacks vertically. All features (drag-and-drop, note editing, etc.) work on touch devices.
Is my data saved?
Yes, calendars and notes are saved locally in your browser’s storage. Clear your browser data only if you’re okay losing your calendars!
Why can’t I see my exams?
Ensure you’ve added exams via the "GCSE" or "A-Level" tabs when creating a calendar. Exams appear as fixed notes on their dates—check the calendar dates match your exam schedule.
What is the Calendar Wizard?
The Calendar Wizard is an automation tool that fills your calendar with study sessions. After adding subjects or exams, click "Calendar Wizard" in the calendar view, prioritize your subjects by dragging them, and hit "Go" to automatically distribute tasks across empty sections based on your priorities and exam dates.
How do I contact support?
Visit the "Contact" page from the menu. Enjoy the app, and stay tuned for updates.
Contact Us
We love feedback! Whether you have questions, suggestions, or just want to say hello, your input helps us make StickyNote Calendar better for students like you. Fill out the form below, and we’ll get back to you soon!
Privacy Policy
At StickyNote Calendar, your privacy is our priority. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle your information—or rather, how we don’t. We’ve designed this tool to work entirely on your device using local storage, meaning we don’t collect, store, or share your personal details on our servers unless you choose to send us information through a form. Read on for the full details.
1. Our Commitment to Your Privacy
StickyNote Calendar is a web-based study tool built for GCSE and A-Level students. We created it to help you plan your studies without compromising your privacy. Unlike many online services, we don’t track you, collect your data, or store it on our servers. Everything you do in the app stays on your device, thanks to local storage technology.
2. What Data We Collect
We don’t collect personal data automatically. Here’s how it works:
Local Storage Only: When you create calendars, add sticky notes, or customize your study plan, all that information is saved in your browser’s local storage. This is a small space on your device that the app uses to remember your data between sessions. It never leaves your browser unless you clear it yourself.
No Server Storage: We don’t have a backend database or server that stores your calendars, notes, or any other inputs. This means no personal details—like your name, email, or study habits—are sent to us or stored by us.
Form Submissions (Optional): The only time we receive any information from you is if you choose to submit a form (e.g., the "Contact Us" or "Schools" forms). These submissions are voluntary, and we only use the details you provide to respond to your inquiry. See Section 4 for more on this.
3. How We Use Your Data
Since we don’t collect your data on our servers, there’s nothing for us to use in the traditional sense. Here’s what happens instead:
Local Functionality: The data you enter (e.g., calendar names, subjects, notes) is used solely by the app on your device to display your study plan, track progress via the pie chart, and save your work for future sessions. It’s all processed locally in your browser.
No Analytics or Tracking: We don’t use cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics tools to monitor your usage. Your interaction with StickyNote Calendar is private and stays that way.
No Sharing: Because your data stays on your device, we have no access to it and therefore can’t share it with anyone—no third parties, no advertisers, nobody.
4. Form Submissions
If you choose to contact us or submit a request (e.g., via the "Contact Us" or "Schools" pages), here’s what happens:
Voluntary Information: These forms ask for details like your name, email, and message. Providing this information is entirely optional and only occurs if you decide to submit the form.
Purpose: We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry or request. For example, if you submit the "Contact Us" form with a question, we’ll use your email to reply.
Storage: Submitted form data is stored temporarily in our email system (or a secure server if hosted) only as long as needed to address your request. We don’t keep it longer than necessary or use it for any other purpose.
No Marketing: We won’t add you to mailing lists or send you unsolicited messages based on form submissions.
5. Your Control Over Your Data
You’re in charge of your information with StickyNote Calendar:
Clearing Local Storage: All your calendars and notes are stored in your browser’s local storage. If you want to delete them, simply clear your browser’s cache or data (e.g., in Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear Browsing Data > Cookies and Other Site Data). Note that this will erase all your saved calendars.
No Account Needed: We don’t require you to sign up or log in, so there’s no account data to manage or delete.
Form Opt-Out: Submitting forms is optional. If you don’t want us to have any details, just don’t use the forms—we won’t have anything to hold onto.
6. Security
While we don’t store your data on our servers, we still take security seriously:
Local Safety: Your data in local storage is as secure as your device. Keep your browser and device updated to protect it.
Form Security: If you submit a form, we use standard web security practices (e.g., HTTPS if hosted) to protect your information during transmission. Once received, it’s handled manually and not stored in an automated system.
7. Third Parties
We don’t involve third parties in your data:
No Sharing: Since your study data stays in local storage, no third parties have access to it.
External Libraries: We use trusted open-source libraries (e.g., Font Awesome for icons, Chart.js for progress charts) hosted via CDNs. These libraries don’t collect your data—they’re just tools to make the app work.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the app’s functionality changes (e.g., if we add server-side features in the future). Any updates will be posted here, and we’ll note the effective date below. Since we don’t collect your contact info, check back occasionally for changes.
9. Contact Us
Have questions about this policy or how we handle your privacy? Reach out via our Contact page. We’re happy to clarify anything for you.
